What We're Loving This February

To many, the definitions of love and family are almost interchangeable.  When you work in a family business, there are days where this is definitely true but to be perfectly frank, there are also days where we can’t seem to agree on anything.  In that respect, a family business is just like any other except for the fact that we probably yell a little louder and give each other a little more crap and at the end of the day, we all get together for a big family dinner and play board games.

At Austad’s, we are a true third generation family business with Dave Austad at the helm, Ryan Austad steering the strategic vision for our retail stores and Sara Austad overseeing the website and marketing.  Most days are a lot of fun and with our distinct opinions on everything from the product mix to the beverages in the fridge, it’s always interesting.  Here’s your chance to get to know the Austad family a little better.  This is what Dave, Ryan and Sara are loving right now:

What Dave is Loving Right Now:

Dave enjoys pina coladas and getting caught in the rain.  He also loves Lord of the Rings, 80’s soft rock and the Minnesota Vikings.  He is a trivia and game nut and is always a bit sad after getting the smack laid on him by his kids.  Dave is a 15 handicapper on the course, but has been known to string together up to 7 pars in a row.  Here are a few other things Dave is loving right now:

Ryan Austad really enjoys taking long walks on the beach and talking about feelings while cuddling kittens.  He also likes drinking a Fernson beer while watching the Huskers dominate the Big 10.  He quotes Portlandia regularly and loves serenading his children on guitar.  Ryan is a 9 handicapper and relishes beating his dad on the course regularly.  Here are a few other things Ryan is loving right now:

Sara loves many things but her biggest passions include hardcore MMA cage fighting and death metal.  Actually, that may not be 100% accurate.  Sara really loves beating the boys at fantasy football, watching Murder She Wrote reruns and singing really loud in the car.  She also enjoys any food that she can eat with her hands and playing board games.  Here are a few other things that Sara is loving at the moment:
