Golf may be entering its “frost delay” in most of the country, but there’s still plenty to be thankful for this November. Between mind-blowing tech that keeps us swinging year-round, a wild finish to the PGA Tour season, and new ways to show your team pride on and off the course, there’s no shortage of things to talk about while we polish up the putters for winter.
Here’s what’s got us talking (and what you need to know) this month:
3 THINGS WE'RE TALKING ABOUT
1. Despite the USGA’s Best Efforts, 2026 Product will Leap Forward
The USGA has long kept a close eye on golf technology, setting limits on things like clubhead size, COR, and groove design to ensure the game remains about skill—not just science. Yet, despite those boundaries, golf’s leading manufacturers continue to innovate in impressive ways. From smarter materials and AI-driven designs to precision fitting and aerodynamic tweaks, each new product generation manages to squeeze out more distance, forgiveness, and feel—proof that creativity in golf engineering is anything but capped.
Team Austad’s has seen much of the 2026 product line-up. While we can’t talk any specifics, we can say that golfers are in for revolutionary changes that will bring performance (and bragging rights) to your game.
**Pro tip: keep watching the tour to see which pros put new clubs in their bag before years end.

2. Football on TV, Golf on the Green — Taylormade’s Team Spirit
Taylormade just dropped their SpeedSoft Ink NFL golf balls, and let’s just say they’re the perfect pairing for fall golf. Whether you’re a die-hard Vikings fan or (gulp) a Packers supporter, these balls add a little team spirit to your scramble.
Round out your fandom with team headcovers and ball markers from Austad’s, and you’ll have the best-looking bag at the course (even if your fantasy team is struggling).

3. Thankful for Golf Tech (and the Year-Round Game)
Let’s take a mulligan on the idea that golf is “just a summer sport.” Between in-home simulators, Topgolf like facilities, and putting concepts like PopStroke or The Puttery, we can now play, compete, and laugh our way through a round any day of the year — no tee time required.
We’re thankful for the innovators who make it possible to play 18 holes in under an hour, test clubs in our living rooms, and still talk trash to our buddies. Golf’s never been more fun, more social, or more accessible — and that’s something worth raising a Thanksgiving toast to.

2 THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW
1. Inside the Mizuno Foundry
Our Austad’s crew recently toured Mizuno’s Foundry and custom assembly plant in Atlanta — and wow, it’s every gearhead’s dream. The quality and care team Mizuno takes in building custom golf clubs is second to none.
Their commitment to craftsmanship is unreal, and it’s clear why they say, “Nothing feels like a Mizuno.” Check out some images below from our tour.

2. Give Your Clubs Some Winter TLC
Winter is coming (sorry, couldn’t resist), and that means it’s time to give your clubs some love. The offseason is perfect for:
- Regripping — cold, worn grips are no friend to your hands, game or score.
- Checking loft and lie angles — especially if you’ve been playing on firm turf.
- A full bag tune-up — make sure your setup is ready to roll come spring – a gap analysis will go along way in determining if you can consistently hit your yardages.
Stop by your local Austad’s and let our repair specialists get your clubs back in mid-season form.
1 MISSION MOMENT
At Austad’s, our mission is simple — to help you play better and have more fun. This month, that means staying thankful: for great gear, good friends and family, and a game that keeps giving us something to smile about. The Austad family remains thankful for you in allowing us to do what we love.
So here’s to turkey, tee shots, and technology — the perfect trio for a golfer’s November.

Signing off for this month,
Ryan Austad
