2015 may go down as the official year of golf. Great tournaments, fantastic technology and styles that look great on and off the course. Find out why this may be the greatest year in golf ever.
What a difference a year makes. Last year we had rainy cold weather through much of the country,
Bubba won a boring Masters, Phil and Tiger were nowhere to be seen, and a kid named Jordan was just
a great potential that hadn’t happened yet.
The Match Play in San Francisco is a good example of the improvements in the year. A better format
meant all the big names played at least 3 days. A final with the world’s #1 Rory McIlroy and longballer
Gary Woodland was fun to watch. Some of Rory’s clutch shots and important putts reminded me of the
man in red, who will now be playing much more golf, (more time on his hands now that he and Lindsey
Vonn are done). Rounds played are way up in the Midwest, plus lots of interest in new product and
custom fitting. To make it even more exciting, Rory and Jordan have the potential to be the next Jack
and Arnie or Tiger and Phil, just what golf needs for the next 10-15 years.
So, make 2015 your year for golf. Play more, Play better, and watch some fun golf on TV, starting with
the “5th major”, the Players Championship this weekend. Golf is hot again!
